You are entitled by law to union representation. Don't be misled into thinking you won't need it! YOU MUST REQUEST UNION REPRESENTATION; the Company is not required to offer it and usually won't. If called into a meeting with management, read the following to them before the meeting starts: “If this discussion could in any way lead to my being disciplined or terminated, or affect my personal working conditions, I respectfully request that my union representative, officer, or steward be present at this meeting. Without representation present, I choose not to participate in this discussion.” You may call the Local at 601-922-5200 or 601-922-5201, or for representation and you do not have to answer any questions until your representative arrives.
You DO NOT have to write or sign ANY statement for the company Company. (If you do, request a copy).
If the Company requests for you to sign a document, write in "I don't understand", "I don't agree", or something similar to prevent the company from sneaking unsigned documents in your file at a later time. (Remember, your supervisor is NOT your friend and will do what he/she must to cover their own ass!)
When asked a question by the Company, if you don't recall, say you don't recall. (Don't try to fill in the gaps or guess).
You have the right to information regarding the subject of the meeting before you participate.
You have the right to consult with your Union Representative before and/or during the meeting.
DO NOT FORGET: YOU MUST REQUEST UNION REPRESENTATION, the Company isn't obligated and usually won't offer it.

THERE IS NO SURPLUS FOR Q4 2017 IN MISSISSIPPI DUE TO RECENT CIRCUMSTANCES THAT AROSE DURING THE PROCESSING OF THE Q3 SURPLUS, LOCAL NOMINATIONS & ELECTIONS HAVE BEEN PUSHED BACK. NOMINATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED AT THE NOVEMBER MONTHLY MEMBER'S MEETING AT THE UNION HALL. ELECTIONS WILL FOLLOW ONCE ALL POSITIONS HAVE A NOMINEE THAT HAS ACCEPTED SUCH NOMINATION. KIM SADLER WILL ALSO BE RUNNING AGAIN AS LOCAL PRESIDENT DUE TO THESE CIRCUMSTANCES. If you wish to participate you must be at the November meeting and have your wishes included in the Minutes.

If you go it alone, you may be subjected to a confusing, on the spot, behind closed doors meeting about all sorts of metrics, formulas, & questions about where you were at a specific time a week ago that can result in an entry being placed in your personnel file which can be the ONLY reason you don't get a job you may have bid on to move up in the company, &/or even lead up to suspension & termination if they start to mount up over a time span that can take years. Nobody working hard for their families & the career they've chosen deserves that kind of crap when they show up every day & do their job!
